How Quickly Things Can Change...

Hey there...I am going to attempt to keep this blog, just so everyone can try to sort of keep up with my crazy life.

As many people know, I am in Wisconsin. My Mom, Karen (aunt), sister and I drove up from Texas for my grandpa's knee surgery. From Texas to here, it is a good 20 hours in the car. (Insane, right?) I can't even begin to tell you how good it feels to be back. When we drove in, it was sooo good to just see the farms, corn, and GREEN! Not to mention, the SIXTY degree weather. After 50 one-hundred degree days, this feels quite refreshing. I am enjoying being able to cuddle up with a blaket and still wear shorts :)

Today, my grandpa had his knee surgery. Jamie (other aunt) came up last night, Karen, Gramma, Grandpa, Mom, Kathleen, and I all left at 7 this morning. I n our three little cars, we trudged up to the hospital. Grandpa was ready, He has been in so much pain and wanted to get it fixed right! To begin with, the surgery was moved back to a later time, which was fine with me, I was happy to get to sleep a bit longer. We get to the hosptial and were there for 3 and a half hours before the surgery acually began. Two hours had passed when the Doctor finally came out to let us know how it had gone. The first words out of his mouth were, ''I don't really have anything good to tell you...'' All our mouths dropped open.... Needless to say, not what we were expecting to hear from him. The doctor said he was not able to do the knee replacement (for everyone who didn't know, this was my grandpa's second surgery on the same knee) because when he opened the knee up, there was infection everywhere. So, Grampa will be on medicine for a few weeks and then they will check to see if the infection has dimishished. Next, will be another surgery, hopefully for the knee this time.

Please pray for my Grandpa, that he will have patience through these next few, tough weeks, knowing that it will help him get better. I am just thankful that we were able to be up here, and hopefully be a support for my gramma. I am also glad, that he went in today, otherwise they may have never found the infection. It is amazing how quickly things can change. We thought, it was just a normal knee replacement. Yet, God had a plan, and knew that by attempting to do this knee replacement, this would be found. Just a minor setback. It will all work out according to God's plan. I have come to realize lately, that as much as we try to control things, it just isn't our place. We have no idea what the future will hold, that is why we have to rely on someone far greater!

Alright, enough ramblin' for now!

God Bless
