We live in the world, but we are not to be of the world.

I copied this from my sister's blog... she wrote it. We both have been talking a lot about this lately, so since it is important to me too, i thought i'd copy it here! Thanks Kathleen!

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.-Romans 12:2

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.-1 John 2:15

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.-James 4:4

Okay, SO, I have been hearing a lot lately about how it's okay to consciously sin, knowing that you will be forgiven. I honestly don't believe this is true. We have forgiveness because Jesus died on the cross, but if we are truly in love with God, we should be wanting to please Him and not consciously sinning.I am not going to get into my opinions on the following, I am just going to quote the Bible, because I don't believe that the Bible was given to pick apart parts that "feel good" but, that the book as a whole was given as a "road map" to life.

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.-Ephesians 5:18

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”-Ephesians 4:29

**By this time, I know a lot of you are thinking "Yup, she's saying all this because she thinks she's perfect. That is not at ALL why I am saying it! I'm quoting the Bible and what I believe that it says we all need to work on in order to be examples to those of the world, because really, if we are doing what the world is doing, we are no different than them. We are supposed to be DIFFERENT. Non-believers look at many of "us Christians" and think "Wow, they're doing THAT and they claim to be a 'Christian'? I do the same things and I'm not a Christian. What's the difference?"

''Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.'' 1 Timothy 4:12

I'm Home!!

Hey there world, I am back to technology!

Over in Israel, I was out of touch with all things happening in the world. No computer, no phone, not much TV... it was strange. I made it though!

I really had an amazing trip. I think I am still in awe that I actually went to Israel. It was so cool to see many places in real life that were mentioned in the Bible.

I am very glad to be home. 10 days with minimal contact with my family was tough.

I wouldn't trade it for the world though.

Today is the day!

I cannot believe it is finally here. Today is the day that I fly to Israel. It seems the last 7 months flew on past so fast!

I am nervous about the flight (not even going to try to hide that), but I am so excited to see what God has in store for me on this trip. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to truly walk where Jesus walked, to actually experience the Dead Sea in person, (among other Bible stories) and to learn even more about how it was like for Jesus to walk this earth. To be able to walk on a path knowing that my God's feet have touched this exact ground.

I hope to not only get closer to the Lord through this next week, but to see God's plan revealed through my life. To live out His will in every moment. I don't want this trip to just put me on fire for Jesus for one week or even two after the trip. I want this to be an out-of-this-world-crazy-life-changing experience that really shows me God's love.

I want to be able to come home and be a stronger Christian, a better witness and an amazingly on fire follower of God. I want to be different. I can't wait to cling to every word and place that we see this next week. I already feel God working in my life. I know He has a plan. I know that this trip is a blessing.

I want to be changed.

Check Back Here!

Make sure that you check my blog through the next week. I think I should be able to keep this updated. I'm hoping that I can hook up to a wifi spot over in Israel and update my blog with the days happenings.

I won't be able to upload pictures, but I will add those later on.

I'm getting ready for a new adventure!

(like a plane ride that will last 1/2 a day. eekkk)

So, come along and enjoy this trip with me!!

Oh Dear.

I leave tomorrow. Yikes.

I am not ready.

Wendesday

Israel countdown: LESS than two days!

My amazing daddy went to AT&T yesterday for me. I needed to figure out how to turn off the data/text/phone calls from my phone while I'm over in Israel. I didn't want to be charged over the moon prices for it, when I wasn't going to even use it!

They found out that if I just keep my phone in Airplane Mode the whole time I am over there, I can still find the free wifi spots, and keep up with twitter, facebook, and my blog- all from my phone (I wasn't going to take my laptop anyways)

ALSO! We figured out how to make FREE phone calls home with this nifty app.

I can make a ''phone call'' to my parents computer, or to Kathleen's phone and actually talk to them all for free (over wifi)! YAY for technology.
