Kyler Update

THis is an update from my Aunt Marilyn, Lindsay's mom:

Sorry for the delay in the update....Lindsay and Wyatt wanted to give some input, and with so many things going on, we never got around to it last night, (we got home about 11:30.)

For those of you who we've just added your email address, you can read what' been going on, below today's info.

Lindsay is doing VERY well...has been taken off the medication that was being given to her to prevent seizures, since her lab levels were continuing to stabilize. The medical concerns that threatened her life, are pretty much resolved. That meant she was able to move yesterday (Wed.) afternoon to a regular postpartum room, where now Randy(Kyler's Grandpa) and Janna(Kyler's aunt) can visit. When she was in the Labor/Delivery unit, only 3 people could visit....and it had to be the same 3 people the entire time she was on that unit. So, the 3 that got the pink "entrance" bracelets were Wyatt, me, and Wyatt's mom. Not a fun time for Randy and Janna, but they wanted to be close by. We were able to go home late Tues night, (Wyatt's mom stayed with them that night) and we returned yesterday afternoon. We will go back again this afternoon/evening.

Kyler's update: GREAT NEWS!!! He was taken off the ventilator Tuesday night, after only about 6 hours...Praise the Lord! and is doing well with his breathing. Of course, since he is too young to maintain his own body heat, he is constantly in an incubator. Lindsay and Wyatt have been able to spend some time with him, although Lindsay is trying to recover as well, so time with Kyler has been somewhat limited. I was able to go see him in the NICU last night and watch as Lindsay was able to hold her hand on him. They (Dr/nurses) don't recommend a lot of jostling around or stimulation at this time, so things must proceed slowly. The 2 grandmas can go into the NICU, but we are not able to touch or hold Kyler......only his parents, which, since time is limited with him, is as it should be. I am anxious to hold that precious little guy!!! I spoke with Lindsay this morning, and she is planning on getting to hold Kyler for the first time this afternoon, and be able to change his diaper. She said the nurse told them that Kyler "has an attitude", as he apparently kicked the IV out of his foot, so now they have put in a CVP line which will be more permanent, and they won't have to keep moving the IV sites.

Wyatt and Lindsay's focus at this point is to get Lindsay back on her feet, to get stronger and recover from her surgery. Needless to say, she is exhausted, as is Wyatt, from living at the hospital since Sunday night. They figured there would be plenty of time later for visitors, so have requested only immediate family for now. They are not sure at what point she will be discharged, and they have a lot of decisions to make regarding what they will do, once that happens, since Kyler will most likely be in the hospital until around his original due date, which was in April.

We are so grateful for your prayer support! I KNOW that is what has kept us going, given Lindsay a quick recovery, when it could have been several more days before she had reached this point, and helped Kyler improve as well. THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU!

Kyler Update!

Here is the latest update!

Lindsay is doing well, has been taken off the meds that were being given to her to prevent seizures. That meant she was able to move this afternoon to a regular post-partum room where immediate family members can visit. Kyler's update: He was taken off the ventilator last night. Praise the Lord and is doing well with his breathing. Since he is too young to maintain his own body heat, he is constantly in an incubator.

Prayer Request

Update #4
Baby boy has arrived! He was born around 4:30 via c-section. No other details yet.

Update #3
This is an email that my aunt (my cousin Lindsay's mom) sent out this morning:

Lindsay rested well last night. Pitiocin was started at 3am and a couple times the baby's heart rate went down a bit, so they couldn't continue increasing the Pitocin. Dr. came in around 9 and gave the okay to start increasing it again. Lindsay's labs were again improved this morning, but still not normal. Dr. is cautiously optimistic that by increasing pitocin she may proceed without needing a c-section. If at any point things don't go as planned, c-section is still a possibility. Today is basically a wait and see day.

Update #2
Lindsay had some bloodwork done around 4pm today. Her bloodwork looked good. So no baby tonight. As of right now at least. Keep on praying :D

Update #1:
If my cousins platelet count goes any lower, they will have to take the baby tonight... otherwise it will be a day by day thing. Right now they are resting. It sounds like her blood pressure is pretty stable. Thanks for praying!

Original Post:
If you have a moment or two to pray for my cousin Lindsay today, she and her family would appreciate it so much. She's pregnant and in the hospital with HELLP syndrome. This is what my mom had with Kathleen. It is very serious. The mom's liver and kidneys shut down. It is life/death for the mom and baby. The baby is a little under 30 weeks right now. About three pounds. They really need our prayers.

The Plan of attack.

So, after searching everywhere I could possibly imagine those note cards to be, again, I have a new plan of attack. Today I am going here: to the lovely library. I am going to find a new person to research. Get some new books and write a research paper. I was so close to being done with Mr. Billy Graham, that it is unfortunate that I am going to have to start over. But, I am choosing to have a good attitude and move forward.

Dear Note Cards...

Dear Note Cards. (for my research paper)
I have looked everywhere for you. Seriously, everywhere I think that you would be. I am pretty sure that you didn't just get up and walk away, but I cannot find you. I am running out of ideas. So please, just come out of hiding.

Thank you.

-- What a great start to a Monday morning... I guess I need to be a little more organized.

Someday...

In my house in the country, someday, I'd like to have a few rooms like this.

Someday, I'd love to have a craft room look like this. I love everything to have a place, while being stylish too!
or this
or this too.

This would be nice to have.

or this.

With a view like this.
----minus the golf course.

Someday

Sunshine.

Today the sun through the clouds. It is going to be 77 degrees here today. I am in shorts, wishing I could open my window to let the cool breeze flow through. If I did that, I wouldn't be able to breathe. So, for now, I am just going to enjoy the sunshine.

Cutest ever.

So, I know I am biased. But I think she is the cutest puppy ever.

Rambling.

Yesterday it was 75 degrees. I wanted to break out the swimming suit, lay on a blanket in my back yard, and get a sun tan. But I didn't. It was a gorgeous day.

I think today is going to be the same. Maybe I will lay out for a while... after I go get Sonic. I'm having withdrawls. It's been over a week since I've been to Sonic... yikes!

I have like 2e3544 bazillion tests to take today, so I better go study.

Little things.

Like knowing that if I wanted to, I could paint my nails later today. I'll be done with work/washing dishes and it wont come off.

I don't think I am going to, but I'm just saying.

You know, when you wash a lot of dishes, nail polish doesn't stay on very well.

thats all.

Not Guilty

I just love this song by Mandisa. It is amazing to know that God did pay that price. He does indeed love us and want us.

Not Guilty

Mandisa

I stand accused
There’s a list a mile long of all my sins
Of everything that I’ve done wrong
I’m so ashamed
There’s nowhere left for me to hide
This is the day I must answer for my life

My fate is in the judge’s hands
But then he turns to me and says

I know you
I love you
I gave My life to save you
Love paid the price for mercy
My verdict: Not Guilty!

How can it be?
I can’t begin to comprehend
What kind of grace would take the place for all my sin
I stand in awe now that I’ve been set free
And the tears well up
As I look at that cross
‘Cuz it should’ve been me

My fate was in the nail scarred hands
He stretched them out for me and said

I know you
I love you
I gave My life to save you
Love paid the price for mercy
My verdict: Not Guilty!

I’m falling on my knees to thank You
With everything I am I’ll praise You
So grateful for the words I heard You say

I know you
I love you
I gave My life
I know you
I love you
I gave My life to save you
Love paid the price for mercy
My verdict: Not guilty

Never the Bride.

My mom got this book from the library the other day. I took it with me to babysit and could not stop giggling. It is really funny, a light read.. and I think all will end up working out at the end. I'm not sure! I haven't finished yet.

It is a little creepy how the character and I are similar in a few ways. (Not the bride part..) She is very OCD. Me too.. maybe that's why I laugh. Becasue I see myself. But she doesn't like coffee. That's a turn off right there. I need coffee.

So anyways. If you are looking for an easy read that is clean. Check this one out! Too cute.

God is Greater...

For God is greater than our troubled hearts and knows us more than we know ourselves.
-1 John 3:20

This verse is such an encouragement to me. Knowing that when I am sad, in pain, worried.... that God knows. He already has the end result planned out. He knows us. He knows every thought in our mind.

For God is greater....

I am going...

I am going to read the Bible through at least once.

I am going to play the piano more this year. I want to learn a few songs. I need to keep up with Kathleen.

I am going to learn how to sew. I think it would be fun. Betsy was going to show me, but then I moved.

I am going to try to finish my afghan. I have a long way to go. I wonder if I'll finish this one or not.

I am going to work on my scrapbook.

I am going to take more pictures.

I am going to cut back on my garlic addiction... (yeah... probably not going to happen)

I am going to be a little more artsy.

I am going to eat Chipotle.

I am going to exercise more. The Wii Fit is helping me!

I am going to drink more water. But still drink coffee. duh

I am going to love my Jesus.

Oh my.

This is what I tackled while watching the Packer game last night.

Can they pull this off?

Update #2:
Even though you didn't win dear Packers. I am proud. You played a great game. It really kept me on my toes! See you next season!

Update:
Overtime!! What will happen! Ohhhh.. it is so exciting :D

Original Post:

Watching the Packer game...

Reading the Bible

in 90 days. This app for the iPhone makes it possible!
It's called You Version. It is actually a really neat app. You can scroll though many different translations with just a swipe of your finger! Kathleen just showed me how you can scroll though different reading plans. I really would like to read the bible through this year, at least once, so I thought this would be a great place to start!

Bye-Bye Detox

I caved. at 12:08.

I had Starbucks.

For dinner, I had beef chimichangas.

with meat, cheese and sour cream.

good-bye detox.

hello coffee.

Detox Day #4

I haven't cavedyet. I am wondering if I will be able to make it till tomorrow night. I have had the worst headache since Monday morning. Plus, cedar fever, or whatever allergy it is, is not really helping either!
I would really like some coffee, or a diet dr. pepper....

One. more. day.

Say Cheese!

For Christmas, I got this awesome (sort of like photo shop) program for pictures!

I am so excited it isn't even funny! It really does everything I had hoped it would.
Now I'd just like some time to be able to play with it! I need to go take some more pictures!

Detox Day 3

oh. my. goodness.

day three must be when all the cravings and headaches really start to set it.

I have had a headache since Monday morning, I know it is from not having caffeine. No fun at all.

I could never be a vegan.

SO thankful this is only for a week.

Can you tell?

I love to cook. I find it relaxing and calming. I love reading a recipe, tweaking it a little, and seeing a meal come out of it!

I have a lot of cookbooks.

I don't cook out of them as often as I'd like to. This year, I want to do better and make quite a few recipes out of my favorite books.

Rachel Ray is one of my favorite chefs! I really enjoy watching her on the Food Network and watching her talk show. 30 minute meals, who doesn't love fast and easy?

I bet you couldn't tell.

So, here is to cooking some yummy food this year.. and blogging about it too!

after this icky detox diet thing is over...

Tonight

I am trying to stay awake.

Once again, I am babysitting... I seem to be babysitting more than I breathe lately. Ok. Not really but to be honest, it feels like it sometimes. I am very blessed though, to be able to pick and choose the hours I work.

I brought a new Amish book to read, but I need to keep my hands moving because I am getting tired! :) I hope the parents will be home soon. Being snuggled under my covers sounds so nice right now.

I am sorry dear blog for sort of neglecting you these last few weeks. It seems I just don't have anything interesting to say. I'm going to try to figure out a few more exciting things to write about. I promise. ;)

We took our Christmas tree down this afternoon. It feels like we just put it up!

Starting tomorrow, my family is going to try this 'detox' thing. Kathleen and I heard about it through Twitter. For one week we aren't going to have caffeine (no coffee! Oh dear) meats, soda, bread, sugars... and so on. I am actually excited to try it. I think it will be good. It will probably help to get me on track to be healthier this year. We shall see how it goes. I'll be craving fried foods by Thursday im sure. Haha.

Saturday, January 2, 2010

Saturday

Today, I will spend my day babysitting.

I have been babysitting like crazy lately. The extra money is nice, but it sure is wearing me out! I took a lot of jobs this past week becasue I didn't have school.

I cannot believe it is January of 2010 already.

We raked leaves yestereday. Well, my dad raked them, I watched. And held the bag. - It was 60 some degrees out. It sure isn't this warm in Wisconsin right now...

Well, off to babysit...

Happy New Years!

Can you believe that is already here? I sure can't!

I hope that you all have a blessed year and grow closer to Jesus with every step you take, breath you breathe, and word you speak.
