20 Reasons a Best Friend is Better Than a Boyfriend

20 Reasons a Best Friend is Better Than a Boyfriend
borrowed from here
Believe it: a true friend is way more valuable than a boyfriend. The same is true when you’re 20 as when you’re 80. So while some of you may be scrambling to meet a guy or working overtime to make a relationship happen, just remember that your best friend is for life. The guys will come and go—and they'll cause a lot of drama in between. In case you need a reminder, I’ve listed 20 reasons a BFF is more important than a BF, after the jump!
1. A best friend doesn’t care if you haven’t shaved your legs or painted your nails today.
2. A best friend doesn’t make you watch boxing on TV.
3. A best friend is equally as literate in The Bachelor and DWTS as you are.
4. A best friend doesn’t booty call you.
5. A best friend isn’t concerned whether you’re Julia Child or not.
6. You won’t have to diet to meet your best friend’s mom.
7. A best friend doesn’t talk about marriage just because s/he thinks it’s what you want to hear.
8. A best friend doesn’t spook at the word “baby.”
9. A best friend understands your issues about bangs, periods, bitchy bosses, push-up bras, straightening irons, and driving in heels, because she has the same issues.
10. A best friend can listen to a complaint because that’s how we communicate.
11. When all the men have left, your best friend will still be there.
12. If a best friend puts his/her career ahead of you for even one night, you can tell the person to snap out of it, and s/he’ll agree with you.
13. None of your best friend’s Facebook friends will make you jealous.
14. A best friend always puts the toilet seat down.
15. A best friend will not only wait for you to get ready—she’ll help you get ready.
16. You never have to suck in your stomach for a best friend.
17. A best friend is fine with you wearing a dress that looks like a tent.
18. A best friend carries spare feminine products on her person at all times.
19. On vacation, a best friend can work on her tan for nine straight hours, just like you can.
20. When you’re in the mood for chocolate, your best friend is also in the mood for chocolate.

The Lack of Pictures Lately

The reason for my lack of pictures is......

I certainly miss my PC.... This Mac has no SD reader and my adapter is "unrecognizable" for some reason.

I miss taking pictures

I can't wait for this summer.... I'll use my PC again, have more free time to take pictures and more time to blog.

So, now you know.

the reason for the lack of pictures lately :)

13.9

...days until school is out.

yes I have an on-going countdown in effect.

My weeks consist of:
2 more school days
then
5 more school days
then
3 more school days....

I am referring to it was 2-5-3 :)

I am off to pick up my friend from work, but sometime this week I will be back to tell you about my lovely trek back up here to school! It was a little scary but I am so thankful for God's protection over me.

Happy Wednesday!

This time tomorrow....

I'll be 4.5 hours from home! Tomorrow starts Easter Break!! My aunt is flying in from Wisconsin to spend her spring break with us!  I am so thankful for the long weekend and to hopefully get a sun tan by the pool!

Thankful for the special time that Easter represents.  I am so blessed and so thankful for what Christ did for us.

I promise I'll start blogging again - for real - soon!

These last few weeks are crazy busy.  I'm just 21 days away (weekends included) from finishing up my FRESHMAN YEAR! I am nearly a sophomore in college.  How crazy is that?!??!

Last night, we signed up for housing for next semester.  Talk about stressful!  There were over 200 people in a room and names were called slowly.  Brooke and I tried to be patient and wait to see if we would be able to get the room that we wanted.  I prayed so hard!  We were only 3 names below our friends that we hoped to room with.... so we basically were praying that no one else would sign up beside our friends name until our names were called.  Thankfully it all worked out and next semester Brooke and I will room with Jen and Emma! It's so exciting. We will be in a four person suite and each room mate pair will have their own bathroom.  We are excited to decorate and thankful that we will all get along!!! We will live in Hills next year, which is where I am now.  Same floor, just the opposite side of the hall!

Off to study for my biology test that is tomorrow (I'm leaving to go home right after I am done with the test!) Prayers are MUCH appreciated over this test. I am nervous but need to do well.  I know it will be fine, whatever the outcome is, but I still am worried about ALL the material that is on this test.  Thanks!!

Happy Easter!

Hocus, Pocus, Jenna needs to focus.

This part of the semester is getting crazy.

Tests to study for

Papers to write

Books to read

Assignments that are due

Quizzes, outlines, and meetings to attend.

It is easy to lose focus- which seems to be my problem right now.

I have a long to-do list, and I am in a funk.

I am not a procrastinator by any means.

I just cannot seem to sit down and study right now.

I've tried jumping jacks, sit-ups, eating ice, AND changing the sheets on my bed.

just to

you know,

avoid take a break from the to-do list staring at me.

I

must

focus.

prayers would be appreciated.

A Battle for God....

If anyone is thinking about reading the book "A Battle for God" by Karen Armstrong, take my word that it is NOT worth the read. There may be a good point somewhere in these 500 pages, but it isn't a book that I would choose to read for fun. 300 pages left to go- ugh. Good thing I can google every other word! Only takes 4 times as long as normal to read the book. Sigh.

However, I did finish this book. It is over with. No longer having to be seen by me again!  I had/have an essay over 300 pages due by next Friday- but 7 pages later, It is complete and turned in online.  I am DONE with it.  Since it is due on good Friday, I wanted to have it finished and submitted before I went home next week.  My friend Shelby and I sat down and worked on it last night, edited it this morning and I turned mine in! It is SUCH a relief to be done with it.

Another thing crossed off my to-do list!

Blessings

This song by Laura Story is such an encouragement to me.

God blesses us when we sometimes don't even see it.

Beautiful song, beautiful reminder

Wanna know a secret?

I would rather eat tuna, liver, shrimp, mushrooms, mayonnaise, and horseradish than be in this biology class and study for the quiz tomorrow.

but, I am trying to look at the bright side.

only

8

more times

that

I have to go to that class.

For some reason, that isn't helping much. sigh. back to studying.

A great reminder :D

Two Days We Should Not Worry
(Author Unknown)
There are two days in every week, about which we should not worry,
two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One of these days is Yesterday, with all its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders, its aches and pains.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed;
we cannot erase a single word we said.
Yesterday is gone forever.
The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow
with all its possible adversities, its burdens,
its large promise and its poor performance;
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise,
either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow,
for it is yet to be born.
This leaves only one day, Today.
Any person can fight the battle of just one day.
It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities,
Yesterday and Tomorrow, that we break down.
It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad,
it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened
Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore,
Live but one day at a time.

How to write a paper in college.

My cousin tweeted this website last night. Not saying that I do this a lot, but it is a sign of ADD! haha... Thought it was too cute not to share!

How to write a paper in college/university:
SOURCE:

1. Sit in a straight, comfortable chair in a well lit place in front of your computer.

2. Log onto MSN and ICQ (be sure to go on away!). Check your email.

3. Read over the assignment carefully, to make certain you understand it.

4. Walk down to the vending machines and buy some chocolate to help you concentrate.

5. Check your email.

6. Call up a friend and ask if he/she wants to go to grab a coffee.  Just to get settled down and ready to work.

7. When you get back to your room, sit in a straight, comfortable chair in a clean, well lit place.

8. Read over the assignment again to make absolutely certain you understand it.

9. Check your email.

10. You know, you haven't written to that kid you met at camp since fourth grade. You'd better write that letter now and get it out of the way so you can concentrate.

11. Look at your teeth in the bathroom mirror.

12. Grab some mp3z off of kazaa.

13. Check your email. ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR YET?!

14. MSN chat with one of your friends about the future. (ie summer plans).

15. Check your email.

16. Listen to your new mp3z and download some more.

17. Phone your friend on the other floor and ask if she's started writing yet. Exchange derogatory remarks about your prof, the
course, the college, the world at large.

18. Walk to the store and buy a pack of gum. You've probably run out.

19. While you've got the gum you may as well buy a magazine and read it.

20. Check your email.

21. Check the newspaper listings to make sure you aren't missing something truly worthwhile on TV.

22. Play some solitare (or age of legends!).

23. Check out bored.com.

24. Wash your hands.

25. Call up a friend to see how much they have done, probably haven't started either.

26. Look through your housemate's book of pictures from home. Ask who everyone is.

27. Sit down and do some serious thinking about your plans for the future.

28. Check to see if bored.com has been updated yet.

29. Check your email and listen to your new mp3z.

30. You should be rebooting by now, assuming that windows is crashing on schedule.

31. Read over the assignment one more time, just for heck of it.

32. Scoot your chair across the room to the window and watch the sunrise.

33. Lie face down on the floor and moan.

34. Punch the wall and break something.

35. Check your email.

36. Mumble obscenities.

37. 5am - start hacking on the paper without stopping. 6am -paper is finished.

38. Complain to everyone that you didn't get any sleep because you had to write that stupid paper.

39. Go to class, hand in paper, and leave right away so you can take a nap.
