My Door

The door to our room was looking kind of drab to me so I decided to fix it!  I really didn't ask my roommate if she had another idea, which I probably should have--but I figured we could change it at any time!
I have had this online scrapbook program for quite a few years now.  It is really very simple to use but has a lot of great designs and pretty much every embellishment or decorative paper you could dream of! I decided to print off some paper with our names and then a little fact sheet about me.
I think it turned out pretty cool.... I put up a picture, a little fact sheet, some quotes, (the four small post it notes) and one of my favorite Bible verses. (on the bottom)

It didn't take very long and I needed a break from homework anyways! I miss my craft room and decided to put my printer to good use!

Weekend

Is it just me- or does the weekend go by way too fast?  I feel like I have so much to do, and not enough time to do it!

So, I sat back and make some sweet tea.  I drank so much of it.  With lots of ice and lemon.... It felt like spring was here.  I did wish I was on the beach instead of in Oklahoma!

This weekend- I camped out here for a while.

I sat on my roommate's futon attempting to get some work done.  haha.... I have a to-do list (to accomplish before spring break) a mile and a half long and I'm totally lacking motivation to do it.

As you can see, I drank more sweet tea :)

Over all, it was a good weekend. I'm just not sure if I'm ready for another week.  I guess that means I am closer to Spring Break and I am so ready for that.

Have a wonderful rest of the day!

My afternoon

I decided to get off campus and head to Panera for the afternoon.  I have a lot of homework to do and I needed to get out of the dorm for a while.
This is only a small portion of what my backpack contains.  I brought a lot of my books with me.  6 hours left until they close!

I just found the back booth and parked myself here for the afternoon!

I seriously am getting so much accomplished.  This is my new spot to chill!

Happy almost Friday~

Jet Fuel

Today called for some Jet Fuel.

Jet Fuel- coffee that is.  It is a k-kup that came in a variety pack with my new coffee maker.

I tried to take a very much needed nap this afternoon but was rudely woken up after about 15 minutes.  So coffee was a necessity.  I think now that cup numero uno is gone, I'm going to try the wake up call kind.  Whatever keeps me awake this afternoon.

I have a biology worksheet that is due tomorrow and I have NO idea what to do for it.  I guess I should get started on that. sigh.

2 weeks. 1 day and 21 hours until my last class is over and I am on the road for home! Spring Break here I come!

Look what came today!!

That's right! I've been reunited with a coffee maker once again! I haven't opened it yet though!
The macaroni? Oh yes. That is what happens when you walk into the cafeteria thinking, "Maybe lunch will be good today, so I won't get a to-go lunch." and then you realize that they are out of your favorite cereal and that is the only thing that looked edible and wish you would have at least gotten the to-go lunch for the diet dr. pepper.

But, alas. I have backup!

Have a good Tuesday afternoon!

Drama, Mondays, and Chocolate

so. today has been exciting.

and it isn't even over yet.

I understand Mondays aren't so grand to begin with. But for some reason this Monday seems worse than others.  My attitude on the whole situation may have a lot to do with my not so great mood too.  So, since it's 4pm, and my day isn't getting any better on it's own, I've decided I will make it better.

The lady I babysit for at home posted this on her facebook a few minutes ago. Perfect timing.

-There comes a time in life when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. So love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living.

it's much easier said than done. Just getting up and walking away. People get hurt in the process, but it is literally wearing me out.  I am sick of it. I know drama will be everywhere I turn.  But I choose to not be involved, and to make a more conscious decision on how I react.  So- that's my choice right now- to rise above it.

That's only one issue with my crazy day.

I was chosen (yippee skippy) to give a presentation in my Fine Arts class. So as I was preparing my power point, I realized that I forgot to include the Works Cited page to my assignment.  I had all the information, but I forgot to copy and paste it to the online turn-it-in place along with the essay.  I will make a zero on this assignment for this little copy and paste mistake.  I'm upset, not going to lie.  I spent a lot of time on the assignment and then I realize that one mistake cost me the grade.  But- then I choose to remember that it's one assignment.  I've done well on everything else. And I can make up a little bit of that grade by doing well on the presentation.  So I realized my sour attitude wasn't going to help the situation and I needed to move on.

So I ate chocolate.  I needed chocolate.  I bought Reese's Pieces yesterday at the store.  They were on sale.  I probably shouldn't have those around me.  I think God knew I wasn't going to react to today very well so I believe he allowed me to purchase said candy. And now I am trying not to think about it.

I have so much to do these next few weeks. so much. But I am going to work on my attitude.  Being a good example and making a conscious effort to have a positive attitude and be thankful.

but I do still wonder frequently--is this semester over yet?

400

That's right folks, I have reached my 400th post.

In honor of the 400th post I have made some commitments for this blog:
-try not to ignore it anymore
-take more pictures and post them
-find interesting things to write about
-and eat more fruit.

Whoever has read my random postings, congratulations for sticking around this long!

My Newest thing.

Is is too late for New Year's Resolutions?

because if it is-

oops.

along with continuing to read my Bible daily, I have been going to the track 2-3 times a week. But I have found this website and have been doing these things in my room.

http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=629

I only do them when my roommate has gone to work, because i KNOW I look ridiculous while doing sit ups.

I know I am by no means skinny, and I am pretty sure that I will never be, but I have been able to feel better about myself when I actually am active.

Also, I saw some pictures of me and I am not pleased with the triple chin thing- but that's besides the point.

I can tell that the few times I jog around the track is not only making me feel accomplished, but it adds a better outlook to my day.

Hey, and I am starting not to care too much what people think about me running around huffing and puffing-

is it illegal to wear my spanks while working out?

I feel like I'm getting pretty good at the whole running thing.

You never know, maybe I'll run a marathon one day.
OK. I'll try not to get too carried away.

But anyways, basically I'm doing this just to feel better about myself.

and loose the triple chins.

Superbowl Champions

Thanks to my friends Jen and Julie for watching the game with me tonight. They definitely were not as ''into'' watching it as I was, but it was nice to not have to watch alone! I loved watching the Packers beat the Steelers. This event calls for some new Packer gear!

Farve, Who?
Go Packerssssssss!
Green Bay has some dedicated fans!
This is my boy Donald Driver.
I was showing my Wisconsin pride today. Go PACK!
It paid off. The Packers won the Superbowl. It was a little bit stressful to watch the game tonight...
but,
I am so glad I sat through it.
It was a great game!
I'm so proud to be from Wisconsin!

Weekend!

Today, I woke up and was lazy for a while. Then I decided around 3, to go make sure that my car started! I had some library books to return and I wanted Sonic. My friend Julie and I decided to head over to Walmart to get a few things for the next big snowstorm that is supposed to happen come Wednesday. haha.

I couldn't believe Walmart and the LITTLE bit of food they had!

It's crazy!

Now, I'm back in my dorm blogging and getting ready to work on some homework!

Friday

Well, hello weekend. You have arrived.

We did have school today.  The most comical thing to me, is that on Tuesday they canceled school because of the roads... whatever, it was pretty slick.  Class was canceled on Wednesday and Thursday because of extreme conditions and temperatures.  Today, Friday, we had class.  The roads aren't clear, the side walks are definitely not clear and it is snowing off and on all day today! Oklahoma cracks me up!

I usually have 4 classes on Monday, Wednesday Friday.  But today one was canceled so it was nice to only have 3!

Right now, I am back in my dorm, in my pajamas, sitting on the couch.  I'm blogging and going to try to cross some homework off my large to-do list.

I love having a list.  I like the feeling of crossing off something.  It makes me feel like I conquered some great feat.  Strange, I know.  But, making a list just to cross off, gets me motivated to do the work so I guess that is all that really matters!

Tonight my school is hosting this thing called ''Heart-pal.''  A big deal is made out of guys finding cute ways to ask girls to go to this formal dinner thing with them.  I'll even admit that I really enjoyed witnessing the clever ways that guys asked!  Some of my friends are going, just as a group.  I decided it is not my idea of fun so I chose to opt out and watch a movie in my room instead.  I don't have a dress and I'm not too keen on the lovey-dovey stuff at goes on at these kind of shin-digs.

I guess we are going to get some more snow this weekend.  I don't mind one bit.  But, the major snowstorm that is supposed to arrive on Wednesday better not hinder me from going home on Friday.  I really want to go home and see my family.  There is a party on Saturday for some friends that are home from China too.  I have been praying that everything is clear on the roads.  But I don't think that Oklahoma is really helping matters seeing that the snow storm came 5 days ago and roads still aren't clear.

I'm going to go and work on some homework for a little bit.  More later!

Day 3

Today is day 3.  We have been off school for 3 days now because of the "extreme" conditions outside.

4 of our suite mates went home so there are just 4 of us left in the room.  We spent the last two days watching movies and being lazy.  Today I need to get some homework done!

My plan today: stay in my pjs as long as possible, sit on the couch, work on homework.

Have a great Thursday!

Snowpocalypse 2011

Well, Here we are.... during the night snow and ice began to fall.  I had my doubts that the weather would even do anything worthwile, but here we are... people are freaking out and I am chuckling.

This is the view out my window on the 3rd floor.
Another view out my window. That big building is Hatley... where I lived last semester.

I am living in a brand new building. I don't think the windows were sealed right.... snow on the inside?

This is looking out my window.  Oklahoma is always windy... drifts are forming!

Across the parking lot looking at Hatley...

Good Job OK... Keep snowing!
