Government Forum Chapter 5: Check

Jennah and I worked together and finished our forum for government. It was done two days early! Boo yah! Pretty excited that I can sleep tonight and not worry about it, and maybe even nap tomorrow between classes.

Last night I got 3 and a half hours of sleep. Exhausted much? I think so!

Already have my homework done for Bib Lit tomorrow (did it two days ago) and I have my Comp sheet printed out... no homework for speech. So, pretty much I can nap between classes not feeling guilty.

Found out that my test that I thought was on Thursday was moved to next Tuesday-Sweet!

Teacher observation went well, I really enjoyed it.  I think it will be great for me to be ''in'' the classroom and this teacher wants me to interact with the students! I will go each Tuesday morning until I get 12 hours of observation in!

I think I need to go to bed. Sweet dreams!

I see my family in 2.5 days! SO excited :)

Teacher Observation

....starts tomorrow!

I'm pretty exciteddddd :)

I should really go to bed though. It's 11:15.  Pretty sure I have to get up at 7:15 too, ok... maybe 7:30 :)

I'm sitting in Jennah and Jen's room.  They let me hang in here a lot. They are pretty nice like that.

They got fish today.  Someone down our hall decided they didn't want Tom and Jerry anymore, so Jennah and Jen adopted them and gave them new names.  The Situation and Todd have a new home and a freshly cleaned tank. (it was pretty gross)

I typed up my government key terms for my test on Thursday- ahead of schedule. So tomorrow if I have free time, I can study them!  Tomorrow will be a busy day. I will leave the school at 8 and I wont get back to my room until 3! I think tomorrow will be a Sonic happy hour type of day!

I better go to bed now!

two posts in one day. exciting!

Monday, Monday!

It's laundry time again!  Jennah and I are sitting in the basement, waiting for washers to be done!  We should be doing our government homework, but here we sit, blogging!
Today, we had chapel.  Usually chapel is Tuesday and Thursday.  It is switched around this week, for a special speaker -John M. Perkins, I believe!  He made some pretty good points this morning.  I think he is speaking again tonight, but I just realized I have homework I need to get done before the tomorrow evening.  I have a pretty busy day planned for tomorrow.  I start the Teacher Observation at 8:30 in the morning, have two classes and then homework!  Fun times!
Last night Cory, Jennah, Jen and I went to Chipotle for a late dinner.  We missed dinner at the Commons, so we decided to head on over for a burrito bowl.  I've become addicted to the vegetarian bowl.  I'm pretty sure I could be a vegetarian.  Not joking!
Comp class was canceled today, and I had a Speech test.  Not quite sure how I did, but I think it went better than I expected.
I am missing my family, of course.  I'm pretty excited that I see them Friday.  Pretty excited to check out of the dorms and stay in the hotel with them too.
I better go and start on this government homework.  I have a feeling it will take me a while.
So, that was how my day went. the end.

I have become a napper

So, my momma was right.  Naps have become my friend.  I took a 1.5 hour nap today, woke up exhausted, but still, it was a nap!
We had Chapel today... we were separated by classes because we voted in class elections for Student Body.  It was pretty entertaining.  I knew most of the people running so that made it fun!  The voting is set up pretty cool too, because you just log on to the school website and click on the picture of the person you want for each position!  Pretty nifty!
I went to government class too.  Took a key term test.  It was long, but I feel really good about it.  Pretty sure that I knew more than I thought I did!
Then, Jennah and I met Derek at the Commons Office because Derek got a letterrrr.. Jennah drew a pretty legit picture of the 5 of us, and sent it to him!  He says he never gets mail.  It was pretty cool to see how excited he was!
Then, we ate lunch.  I came back and napped. Until 4.
Now I am hungry, but don't feel like going to the commons.
the end.

Wednesday

My 8am class was canceled today! YES! I got to sleep in, a little at least.  I went to Comp 1 and Speech and was done for the day.  I went to lunch.  Ate cereal.  It is pretty much the only edible thing there.  I tried to eat a sandwich but it was no good.  And some chinese chicken salad, but that shouldn't have been classified as a salad.  I came back up to my room, studied for a while, and then went to Panda Express with Jennah!  We decided that we needed to actually eat something normal.  It was so yummy.  Jennah and I drove around for a while.  We went to Hobby Lobby, this amazing $1 jewelry store, and drove by Aldi.  OH! And we drove by this school that I am supposed to observe at- starting Tuesday.  I am pretty excited about this, not going to lie.  I think it will be such fun to sit in on a 2nd grade classroom and be around kids.
Jennah and Jen match today... they are both wearing green.  Funniest thing is, they don't even realize it.  They are twins! :)
I have a quiz in Government tomorrow. Pretty much not excited for that.  It is my only class tomorrow though. Score!

Whew

I am tired, but nothing new with that! I haven't slept the night through since I've been here!

Thankfully I was able to sleep in today for a little bit, but still didn't sleep long enough!

I did get an email though, that government was canceled for today! I was SO excited. I have always loved history, but this class is different.  I've come to not enjoy Tuesdays and Thursdays very much.

I am sitting in the basement doing laundry and studying (or I should be).  I did laundry on Saturday, but some clothes fell behind my basket and I didn't get those washed! Jennah and I are hanging out in the basement :)

In other news, I am so hungry! haha... I have come to appreciate my momma's cooking even more. She has always been the BEST cook around, other than my aunt and grandma, but I really miss it! I miss cooking a lot too. And eating healthy meals.  I feel like I'm paying for this meal plan but I'm just eating junk all the time! I'd like some fruits and veggies please?!

100%

I got a 100% on my Bible Test this morning! I decided last night to stay up and work extra hard on the few verses I was struggling with.  Persistence pays off!

My friends are the sweetest! They saw my tweet earlier on in the day that I wanted Sour Patch Kids and Nerds, so at 10:45 last night, they ran to Walgreen's, without me knowing, and got those for me! And a best wishes balloon too! Thanks guys!

We sat and talked for a while, and then I went to sleep around 1.  1:30 this horrible, high pitched sound happens. The fire alarm was pulled and we all rushed down the 5 flights of stairs to wait outside.  We stood out there for forever. Two fire trucks had to come and two cop cars.... sigh. What a fun event that was! So, I went back to sleep around 3, just to wake up at 7!

Needless to say, I am exhausted (big surprise there!) and I'm off to class number 2 of the day!

Exodus 20

I have to have this memorized, word for word, for a test on Monday. I am spending tonight writing it, and re-writing it. And eating some skittles.... I am wishing I had some Coffee Health Bar Crunch Ice Cream though :D

Exodus 20
The Ten Commandments
1 And God spoke all these words:
2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 "You shall have no other gods before [a] me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
 13 "You shall not murder.
14 "You shall not commit adultery.
 15 "You shall not steal.
16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Laundry Time!

It's that time again, laundry time. :) I have no cell service in the basement, so I must blog! haha.

I feel like I've been so busy lately.  I can't imagine my life with the math class still!

I still feel homesick.

Only 13-14 days until I see my family!!! I am so excited. They are coming up here for Parent's weekend and I will check out of Hatley and stay with them in the hotel. YES!

Last night, I had a little adventure! A friend called me at 11pm and said she needed to go to the hospital! She doesn't have a car and needed a ride.  We headed over to the hospital and stayed until 3:30 this morning! Everything is alright, but it was a LONG night.  I had taken NyQuil right before she called me and I was sure tired this morning.  I wasn't able to sleep in this morning, and was up every hour!

Exciting times for sure!

My view from here

There was no rain in the forecast here today... Yet, I wake up to thunder shaking the whole building, the streets flooding and my desk lamp flickering! It is interesting being on the 5th floor... The rain is so much louder since the roof is right above me!

Go Oklahoma!

Wednesday already?

I hope that this whole year the next four years fly by as quick as this week has been.

I went home last weekend and it was pretty much amazing.  I had such a great and relaxing time so it was super nice.  My awesome dad put new shocks on my truck and it was a much smoother ride on the way back to school.  I can see my family in 21 days when they come up for Parent's weekend.  I'm pretty excited.

It has been raining all day here...  It makes for a gloomy day.  Not to mention being stuck in a torrential downpour and everything getting soaked.  My messenger bag with all my books was drenched.  Luckily it kept my books dry.  Now I am letting it dry in front of my fan.  There was seriously a lake in front of my dorm.  I had to take my shoes off and walk across the street barefoot.  The water came up to my calves.  My roommate just came in and said that it is still raining.... crazy! I'll have to swim to class tomorrow.

Well, I am off to work on some homework. Have a great afternoon :D

Today is the day!

I get to go home today! Whoo hoo!! I am so excited. Hopefully in 12 hours I will be in my house with my favorite people!

I plan to leave at 1, after my last class!

Math

Math has been a huge part of my stress level this week.

Tomorrow, I am going to drop the class.

Dropping a class is something I never wanted to do.

But, i decided to listen to my FAK and fit sociability in my life as well.

I cried for 2 hours tonight over math homework.

Then i went to target with the J's and then to Pop's lounge to get some Starbucks.  Then we went to late night dinner where a nice man made us bacon.

I had a fun night and I was able to laugh.

I am SO excited that this time tomorrow I will be at home. With my family. Showering in my own bathroom, where I don't have to wear shoes.

I am looking forward to hugs from my family.

Tomorrow will be a great day.

Cried

I have cried more this week than I think I have in my entire life.

I am normally a happy person. This week I have been crabby and whiny.

It feels like I have been here forever. When it's really been 2 weeks.

I hate the feeling that I can't handle something and I have been feeling that this whole week.

I have been praying about my attitude and my outlook on these classes.  In reality, all I really need or want is a hug from my family.

This time tomorrow, I will be on my way home and I CANNOT wait.

I'm sure I will cry some more, but I will be with the people that I love the most.
